As I found out before the Chinchilla Melon Rodeo is going to be big. Some committee are
bringing in cameras and a big screen from Brisbane for the Melon Festival Week-end. So they’ll cover the rodeo with action replays. Oh to win gold lotto.
so it looks like Gympie for me that Saturday, with a run to Gunalda on sunday for the barrel racing.
Haven’t got any details of events and stock yet.
The sports get more coverage.

Well it looks like there will be plenty of barrel racing going on around with the NBHA running a
Section 2 out of Gunalda and coming up to Cordalba, Dallarnil, Jandowae and Nanango.
There will be barrels at the rodeos ,plus the speed2speed events and the Burnett Barrel Racers
working out of Monto. A busy year.

10/01/13

Goomeri was a big event with numerous riders. I had acouple of technical probs soI didnt get to video the utes or transmit to my tv at the bar … was getting interference. Have tested my gear and it seems to be ok.
Chinchilla looks to be a big event… $5000 bull ride and $300 for the saddle broncs,
$1500 for the bares and $1000 for the barrels. And they’re organised an outfit for having big screen action replays. That would be good to see.
So i’ll go to Gympie. THe NRA are having an event…no details yet.
QRA have an event for Taroom on the 23 of Feb, but i want to get to Bell to show previous rodeos and games on the Saturday night. They make a local day at the rodeo with the Iron Man & Woman, Piggy Back Races and calf scramble

Some are interested in watching tthe days action while winding down and having a chat.
I’ll try to do the same at the Kragra Campdraft too.
Don’t know what the story will be for the ACA Finals at Kilkivan yet.
Also whats going on for the footy season ? Where & when will the 47th Batt be ?

and the Agrotrend Challenge is going to under cover.

The NRA final to be in Dalby ?
I’ve put a list of events that i might get to .
If there are any of particular interest let me know.
I’m going to have to change my despatch policy… cash before delivery.
Besides mobile phones some people are using i-pads. Curious to see what the video turns out like.

26/11/12. I’ll try to keep my calendar updated. but things are looking good for Goomeri New Years Eve,
Gympie in February, Chinchilla Melon Festival, Bell in early March, and April is busy with the Kragra Camp, Gayndah Show, and the A.C.A. Campdraft finals at Kilkivan.
I have been told no Rodeo/Campdraft for Eidsvold this year… Easter weekend.

26/11/12 Well the Dallarnil has come and the Mundubbera Bullarama is on this weekend. Lets hope there is more interest.
Team penning seems to be taking over from rodeo if the line up at Dallarnil Rodeo is occuring at other events.
According to my calendars, the only other rodeo on was the N.R.A. Finals at Ipswich. There was over 120 teams in the penning while I did not recognise any big names in the rodeo side of things. What is the future of Rodeo for these small organisations ? What is needed to attract big names. Also what is the future of the Q.R.A. in the Central Wide Bay area. From what I’ve been told, the protection were from the Q.R.A.not the bull riders at Gin Gin. There was no rodeo at Gin Gin or Gayndah this year.

26/11/12…. Country Videos now appears on Facebook.

26/11/12 There is a new Barrel Racing group coming out of the Monto area…. going under the name
“Burnett Barrel Racers” at www.burnettbarrelracers.com
They also are on Facebook as Barrel Racing – Burnett & Beyond and are already organising events in 2013
check it out

25/10/12 Well the Apple Tree Creek Rodeo was on last Saturday, a good time was had by all. Bulls were Roundabout Rodeo Co. and horses Rick Knudsen. The Rodeo had a family theme both in the participants and crowd. Feature bull “Cochise” left an impression on his passenger? The Saddle broncs took the cowboys for a ride and the steers had more oomph in the steer-wrestling.

This weekend (20/10) the Apple Tree Creek Rodeo is on. Last year it was a good night with plenty of action. Both the King bulls and knudsen horses added lots of bounce to the cowboys

Dear Diary Update

dear diary update

Coming up :- looks like we won’t make it to Miriam Vale for the rodeo. There is a lead-up football game to the “STATE OF ORANGES” on that weekend in Mundubbera.

The weekend after that is the Silverwhip Campdraft in Gayndah over 2 days.
Then it’s time for the Orange Festival with the Wine & Cheese on Friday night, procession Saturday, APRA RODEO Sunday, with the football starting before the rodeo finishes. With luck we should do a replay of the rodeo in the hall as usual after the footy finishes.
Then its off to Dallarnil for the sports day and the QRA rodeo
At this stage by my calendar my next away rodeo will be MT PERRY.
If there are any other events of interest let us know ?

Where are we going to go??

Well this year is off to a good start.

I have been able to get to the Chinchilla Melon rodeo, Bell Show Rodeo, and now the Eidsvold Rodeo.

Will be trying for the Monto CRCA Rodeo at the show possibly followed by Mt Morgan then the Agrotrend Challenge.

So that all for now

EIDSVOLD RODEO

Despite the cancellation of the Campdraft a good crowd turned up to watch the annual rodeo. Also a large contingent of riders were on hand to provide the thrills and the bulls put on the show and spills.

A couple of bulls went walkabout but that didn’t detract from action put on by Matt Postle and Brian Kings Beasts. And there were a couple of Beasts that kept Protection Guards Darryl Chong and Jarrod Maguera on their toes.
Ringmaster Larry Cann relived his days of past times in Eidsvold.
ON reviewing the 97 tape, one beast – Red Dirt Road attacked and exited the shutes like a one horned Monster called Deep Creek.

The poddy’s from the Ward Family started the juniors off on their rodeo learning curve. And Gavin Ford’s Dexter turned from quiet as a lamb to a raging, twisting, bouncing “Ferdinand”

Bell Show Rodeo

Bell Rodeo

A good crowd was on hand to appreciate the efforts of the competitors.

Snow Timms Bulls and Barry Halls broncs certainly held the upper hand and kept putting the riders down. Bareback made a welcome return and exciting display for Bell.

Numbers were down in the open bullride (12), 15 for the juvenile bulls, the barrel racers were up to 23, 13 in the saddle broncs, 7 in the bareback.

There was plenty of action from the rough stock provided by local supporters.

Timm’s bulls seemed to own the ring andtook their own time to leave the arena.

Chinchilla Melon Rodeo

Chinchilla Melon Rodeo

Went to the Rodeo – I’d say it was a success… full crowd, running to time, good action

44 open bull riders,

21 novice bulls,

9 junior bull,

20 barrel racers,

28 saddle broncs

The result for the night was :- Bulls and Broncs up and Cowboys down.

Stock provided by Campbell Frahm, Stuart Timms and Rick Knudsen had the crowd in awe (even Kimberley and Alistair from Creek to Coast) and the cowboys holding onto the seats of their pants. the Bull fighters were definitely getting plenty of exercise. It looked as if a couple of bulls were asking the question “DO YOU WANNA HAVE A GO! COME ON! YOU WANT SOME OF THIS? “ They showed who’s the boss!

Aaron Ryan as M.C. with his anecdotes, commentary and interaction with Organiser Danny Gleeson kept the crowd entertained. Volunteers were to the fore on the day too.

Danny Connolly took out the open bull ride.

Will try to catch up at Bell on the 27th. bye

2011 AGROTREND

Tori Darke… delicious, Larry Cann….. out of breath, Pink is the New Black, Brian Duggan Bulls….. vicious, CMC horses….. high flyers going shake rattle and roll and the limestone cowboy had the kids and mothers laughing.

The 3500 in the crowd certainly got their money’s worth and were entertained from the poddy rides, barrel races right through to the bulls.Using Larry’s term of hamburger – there was no hamburger in the arena, but they were trying their best to make mince meat of the riders.

The new siting looks good for future expansion and the area allowed the broncs to wind up.
